Who we help

We support People on Probation who need essential items to stay stable, safe and engaged with supervision.

We currently consider applications for people who:

  • are supervised by Berkshire Probation, or

  • live in Berkshire while supervised elsewhere.

If you need support, please speak to your Probation Practitioner.

What we can help with

Getting into work

  • Clothing for interviews

  • ID documents

  • CSCS cards and vocational courses

  • Tools, equipment or workwear

Essentials for daily living

  • Clothing, shoes and toiletries

  • Bedding and household items

  • White goods and small appliances

  • Mobile phones and phone top-ups

Emergency support

  • Urgent accommodation (via Probation)

  • Sleeping bags, tents and power banks

  • Crisis items for people without stable housing

How it works

1. Speak to your Probation Practitioner

They identify what will support you to move forward.

2. Practitioner submits the application

All requests must come from a Probation Practitioner.

3. Senior Probation Officer approval

Every application is approved before submission.

4. Decisions within 24 hours

Trustees aim to respond promptly, recognising urgent need.

5. Funds sent to Probation

We transfer funds to the practitioner, never to individuals.

Why it matters

Practical support at the right moment can prevent crisis, strengthen engagement and reduce reoffending.

It provides dignity, stability and the chance to take a positive step forward.

As a volunteer-led charity serving Berkshire for over 40 years, we continue to build on a long tradition of community service and rehabilitation support.

Stories of change

A path back after 25 years

Support with ID and a CSCS card helped someone with lifelong ADHD secure voluntary work and approach the end of his licence for the first time since he was 19.

A safe home for his son

Essential furniture transformed an empty flat into a safe environment, allowing a father to rebuild contact with his child.

Independence through mobility

A funded wheelchair enabled someone to attend therapy, join support groups and reconnect with their community.
